Bristol Rovers Community Trust have teamed up with Caring in Bristol, one of the cities leading homeless charities and urged fans to “sleep where you stand” by inviting them to a community sleep out at the stadium on March 6th 2020 in efforts to raise funds to support Bristol’s homeless community.
Community Trust CEO Adam Tutton said “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Caring in Bristol on this year’s Memorial Stadium Sleep Out. As the football clubs official charity we look to help improve the lives of everyone within our great city and support those people experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness”.
The sleep out will be from 8pm – 7am with a panel discussion titled ‘Can Football Tackle Homelessness’ taking place on the night. In order to take part in the sleep out you are required to pay a £25 donation which reserves your space – you are then prompted to raise a minimum of £150 to donate to Caring in Bristol.
The club are offering anyone who successfully takes part in the sleep out a free ticket to the next home game against Sunderland (March 10th) meaning participants really will be sleeping where they stand. To find out more about the fundraiser or reserve yourself a spot, click here.
