Aussie dance acts – including Logic1000, Cop Envy and 2018 Love Saves The Day highlight Mall Grab – are raising key funds for the environmental emergency Down Under by sharing unreleased tracks on Bandcamp. All profits from the sales of these records will be going to disaster relief causes, such as local fire services, the Red Cross and many more.
Australian record labels – including but not limited to Animals Dancing, Burning Rose and Superconscious Records – will be contributing some or all revenue made for a limited time to similar causes.
According to The Guardian, more than 1,500 homes have been destroyed in New South Wales alone, with 4.9m hectares (12.m acres) of land – an area larger than Denmark and about the distance from Glastonbury to Leeds on the UK map. Almost 118 fires continue to burn and are expected to grow as summer continues.
